As far as drainage issues the applicants must follow code and <br />maintain their water on their own site. Regarding the mound and fencing area in the north-west corner <br />along Linda Drive she will look into the matter to see what can be done, but final approval has already <br />been given. <br />B. Zergott motion to request Carnegie Management use highway grass, crown vegetation, or green <br />erosion control plantings on the homeowner's sade of the mounds. J. Nader seconded the motion <br />which was unanimously approved. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. North Olmsted Librarv; 27403 Lorain itoad: <br />Proposal consists of constructing a fence along east side of property line between North Olmsted Service <br />garage and the Library. <br />Chairman Zergott called all interested parties forward to review the request. City Engineer Durbin <br />reviewed that the city would like to place a fence along the mound between City Hall and the Library. <br />There are pedestrians cutting through the garage and construction area and large trucks, buses and <br />construction vehicles are such that a pedestrian would not be seen. For the safety of the City and <br />pedestrians the area iieeds to be fenced. There will be two types of fencing systems used. One will be <br />an opaque vinyl type in the area of the service garage and an aluminum rail system transitioned in, which <br />will continue to the front of the site and blend into the style of fencing at the Library now. To help the <br />transition from vinyl to aluminum railing brick columns will be used. The caps on the vinyl fencing will <br />be flat as well as the aluminum railing. <br />J. 1\Tader moved to approve the North Olmsted Library of 27403 Lorain Road their request which <br />consists of constructing a fence along the east side property line between the service garage and the <br />library as subinitted. J. Crook seconded the motion which was unanemously approved. <br />2. DSW (OYd Kids R Lfs Building); Great Northern Shopping Center: <br />Proposal consists of a new front fagade and interior remodeling. <br />Chairman Zergott called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Ports of Ports Architect <br />came forward to review the proposal. The new store will encompass the old Kids R Us store and a <br />portion of the mobile phone store. They will replace the entire front of the two store fonts and the new <br />store will receive a proto type DSW fagade. The masonry brick will match that of the existing shopping <br />center. They will have signature glass windows with wood framing and the 5 awnings will be black and <br />white striped. The entrance will have 6 metal columns under the store sign. The top fascia will be <br />e.f.i.s. and the color will match the existing center. There will be medallions placed on either side of the <br />store sign. All roof top units will be hidden from view. There are currently two planter boxes in front of <br />the store which are maintained by the owner and there will be no new landscaping added. The entrance <br />sign will kick out about one foot. The board requested that because the rear loading dock area was <br />exposed they would like a landscaping bed placed to close offthe view with plants thereby buffering the <br />neighbors. They suggested the applicant look at the landscape bed behind Applebee's for ideas. <br />J. Crook moved to approve DSW of Great Northern Shopping Center their proposal which <br />consists of a new front fa?ade and interior remodeling. With the inclusion that at the south rear <br />end of the store is to have a landscape curb planter vvith evergreen material similar to Applebee's <br />for screening purposes. J. Nader seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />3. Famous Dave's Barbeque; 26410 Great Northern Shopping Center: <br />Proposal consists of a new portico at the entry and cosmetic work on exterior walls. <br />2
