The wall system is to be 2-feet high and should <br />be a sandstone color to match the new paint. The applicant agreed to use a versa lock wall <br />system for the planting beds and indicated that he would cut into the asphalt pavement. <br />The board requested that 90% of the planting in the planting beds be evergreens. Mr. <br />Conway requested the wall not be stepped down for it to remain continuously even. The <br />board requested that the handi-capped railing be bronze in color as well as the canopy <br />poles. The applicants can use 2' x 12's for the backing of the versa lock system if the posts <br />of the decking run straight. Applicant will pickle stain (white wash) the decking system <br />and paint the handi-capped railings bronze and use the versa lock system as suggested. <br />Mr. Zergott requestecl new plans be submitted to the City Planner before the Planning <br />Commission meeting they are scheduled to attend and the applicant agreed. <br />J. Crook motion to approve Pepper Joe's Restaurant of 24532 Lorain Road their <br />proposal of decking system and railing system with the following contingencies: 1). <br />Along the south fa?ade there will be planters added in front of both sides of the entry <br />stairs. It will consist of a 2-foot high continuous versa lock retaining wall system of a <br />buff sandstone color. 2). The planter itself will have 90% evergreen planting <br />materials. 3). Timbers can be used on the north side of the retaining wall to <br />terminate the planter. 4). The pipe railing system proposed should be bronze or <br />dark bronze in color along with the framing system for the proposed awning. 5). The <br />entire decking system should be stained pickled white throughout. 6). The asphalt <br />pavement is to be dug up to accommodate the planters. 7). An updated landscape <br />plan is to be delivered to the City Planner for chairman's signature before the <br />applicants Planning Commission meeting. J. Nader seconded the motion which was <br />unanimously approved. Note: In the framing of the motion the applicant advised the <br />board that the staining of the deck could not be completed until it cures for one year.
