Wi <br />CITY OF NOIZTH OI,MSTED <br />"TOGETHEIt VVE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" <br />ARCHITECTURAL REVIEVV BOARD <br />1dIIloTUTES <br />NYay 19, 2004 <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman B. Zergott, Board members; J. Nader and J. Crook. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director K. Wenger, Building Commissioner D. Conway, and <br />Clerk of Commissions D. Rote. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Architectural Review Board minutes dated April 21, 2004 are submitted for approval. <br />J. Crook moved to approve the Architectural Review Board minutes dated April 21, 2004 as <br />written. B. Zergott seconded the motion which was unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Krisnv Kreme Corv.; PP# 236-05-01 8: <br />Proposal consists of demolishing existing (Mountain Jack Restaurant) building and erecting a <br />new building. <br />It was disclosed that the applicants present were not aware of the neighboring property <br />proposals access cut on their site. Mr. Slagle, the architect and Mr. O'Brien, with the sign <br />company were present to review the proposal. Applicant indicated that the existing building <br />will be removed and replaced with the new Krispy Kreme building. They would like to just use <br />the existing curb cut and the access to the north parcel both pre existing. The entire building <br />will be brick (Allington red Burn) with a white sand finish E.F.I. S. cornice along the tops of the <br />building. Windows will be clear anodized aluminum, green metal canopies will be placed above <br />the windows and be backlit from a florescent light system beneath the canopy. Board requested <br />dumpster enclosure be brick to match the building and applicants agreed and reviewed that the <br />doors on the dumpster enclosure are to be steel. Building Commissioner advised applicants to <br />look at lowering pole lights to comply with City codes. The type of lights will be a Bronze <br />anodized type light on the building. The curbing will be changed to be a 6" x 18" stand up curb. <br />The mechanical equipment will be at the rear of the building in the service court. It will be <br />screened with a brick wall and all mechanical equipment will be on the lower roof and screened <br />by the parapet. The board requested the screen wall be raised to hide the cooler from view. <br />There will be a middle soldier course band of brick around the building and at the base of the <br />building there will be a cap out 2". Board requested 5 additional linden or pear trees be placed <br />along the south side of the site to buffer the neighboring building from their site. Applicants <br />agreed to add a flowerbed on either side of entrance drive. Board requested the height of the <br />parapet walls be raised an additional 12 inches to help block the roof view.
