requested that the clerk request something in writing confirming the dates that have been
booked for the Cultural Activities Commission's play they are sponsoring in Old Town Hall.
B. Martindale motion to proceed with plans for June art show and play production. D.
Frazier seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. Mrs. Rote advised that
as soon as she received the written confirmation she would e-mail a copy of it to each
commissioner.
VI. CONIlVIITTEE REPORTS:
1. Follow up report from Mrs. Beach regarding the New Library Art issue.
1VIrs. Beach reviewed that she attended the Council of the whole committee meeting. She
reviewed that there was quite a bit of discussion and felt that Council really did not have a
true understanding of what the Library representatives are doing. The meeting was left that
they would continue to take in submittals for the artwork. She hopes that Council will allow
Ms. Madelyn to proceed with procuring the permanent art work for the library in the manor
in which it has been done in the past. She further explained that there will be a place for
permanent art work and rotating art work at the library for the local artists. The commission
would like to be kept up to date as to what is taking place regarding the North Olmsted
Library artwork. Note: Mrs. Birney arrived at the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Birney
indicated someone trying to get into contact with the Cleveland West Orchestra contacted her
and indicated that she had a hard time tracking down the information she was needing. Mrs.
Rote suggested that she would talk to the Data Processing department about placing links on
the Cultural Activities Commissions web page. They might be able to set up the Cultural
Activities page with links to make it easier for residents to get in touch with different groups
within the art fields. Each of the commissioners voiced that they would like the idea
researched.
VII. AD70URNMENT:
Chairman Garland adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
2
