He further noted that
the evening's minutes were being recorded on Mr. Barker's tape recorder which seams to have a
better microphone.
III. RECEPTION OF VISITOIaS:
Mrs. Fran Heil, applicant for certificate of appropriateness'
Mr. Kluth, contractor for Heil property.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
1. Fran Heil• 25427 Butternut Rid eg Road
Proposal consists of a 20' x 16' addition to rear of home.
Mrs. Heil reviewed that the addition would in fact be a 16' x 20' addition to the back of the
home. The room will serve as a family-room, the siding, windows, and shingles will match the
existing homes color and styles. The siding to be used will be vinyl lap style siding. The
homeowner believed that the home was constructed in either 1952 or 1953 and has no
basement. The addition will not be seen from Butternut Ridge Road as the home is angled and
would hide it from view. The board reviewed that the City offers North Olmsted homeowners
10 year tax abatements for additions to their home. Chairman Lang reminded the Commission
that the Cleveland Restoration Society has a similar type of programs; however, the Committee
opted not to join. Chairman Lang advised the applicant that the Committee would write the
Certificate of Appropriateness and provide it to the Building Department. She should be able to
pull her permits by the end of the week.
P. Barlcer moved to grant a certificate of appropriateness to Fran Heil of 254267 Butternut
Ridge Road her request to build a 16' x 20' addition to the rear of existing home as shown in
submitted plans. The siding, windows, roof lines, and colors will match the existing home. M.
Davis seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.
V. COIVIMUNICATIONSe
A.
