RECEPTION OF VISITORS:
New members, Thomas Schock, and Donald Rerko take oath of office.
Before taking roll call Assistant Law, Director O'Malley swore in Thomas Schock to the
Landmark Commission. Mr. Lang noted that he received a call from Mr. Rerko apologizing for
not attending the meeting, but as he is out of town on business, he is not available.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. IVlatt IDunlap of 26550 Butternut Riclge Road:
Request for certificate of appropriateness to replace current wood siding with vinyl siding.
The chairman invited the applicant to review his request. Mr. Dunlap reviewed that he would
prefer to replace the current wood siding with vinyl siding instead of having to strip and repaint
his home. The siding will be the same color that is currently on the wood siding now and the
same style type. The board questioned the depth of the wood siding. Mr. Dunlap voiced parts of
the wood siding are double plied and others are single 6, which is slightly bigger. As he can not
get the single six all the siding would be double plied. The home was built in 1924. Mrs. Lord
noted that Mr. Dunlap's duplex is the only home of its kind within the City of North Olmsted.
The board questioned when the applicant wanted to start and have the project completed. Mr.
Dunlap would like to start on the garage and then throughout the summer install the siding on the
home himself. The board questioned if the applicant had received a copy of the Rehabilitation
Standards, which the commission must follow or the checklist. Mr. Dunlap indicated that he
received the checklist and a copy of section 165.10 with his package. The board provided the
applicant with a copy of the US Department of Interior Inspection Standards for Rehabilitation,
which they must follow. The board explained to the applicant that the existence of the Historical
Districts location itself was due to properties such has his. It was explained that the board is
charged to uphold the standards within the US Department of Interior Standards. The board
