?. . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />LANDMARKS COMO'IISSION <br />IN OLD TOWN IIALL <br />FEBRUARY 9, 2004 <br />MINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Lang called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman J. Lang, Board members M. Davis, B <br />Councilman G. Nasher. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director O'Malley <br />Commission W. Spalding. <br />ABSENT: Board member G. Corell <br />Lord, P. Barker, T. Dubowski, and <br />and Vice Chairman of Planning <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF NIlNUTES: The minutes of the January 12, 2004 <br />Landmarks Commission meeting have been submitted for approval. <br />Mrs. Lord, requested a correction on page (2) "Carriage house" should read Thompson house as <br />that is who built the home. Page (6) correction "first building erected in what is now known as <br />North Olmsted" should read first building erected as a store in what is now known as North <br />Olmsted. Page (8) correction "adapt" should read adept. <br />T. Dubowski motion to approve the minutes as corrected. P. Barker seconded the motion, which <br />was unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Lang announced that Annie Kilbane the Assistant Clerk of Commissions moved to the <br />Personnel department therefore until the position is filled Clerk of Commissions Donna Rote is <br />the only one in the office. Mr. Barker voiced that the Commission welcomed Mrs. Rote and <br />wanted to thank Mrs. Kilbane for all her hard work over the past two years. <br />RECEPTION OF VISITORS: <br />Mr. Gallatin, from the Westlife, Mr. Farrell, Attorney for KIA arrived at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Carl <br />Halleen and Mr. Kula arrived at 7:30 p.m. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Mr. Lang reviewed that he gathered background information on Mrs. Lois VanAuken for a <br />proclamation recognizing her service on Landmarks. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Letter to Mr. Halleen from Landmarks Commission regarding reuse of Rebecca's building. <br />Memo to Mayor Musial requesting support of letter to Mr. Halleen. <br />Memo to Councilman Nasher regarding background information on Landmarks. <br />IV1emo to Mayor Musial from City Engineer regarding old photographs. <br />Oberlin Heritage Center Programs & News. <br />Forum Journal. <br />Kent State University Press. <br />National Trust - National Preservation Awards brochure.
