• , PaPer next WednesdaY. Mr. Lanb a said the last item for consideration on the budget for 2004 is the
building known as Rebecca's. For the last two months he has pursued funding through the Cleveland
Restoration Society, Ohio Historical Society, and the National Trust, nobody has any money to put forth
toward a preservation project. Either because last year's budgets had already been expended or because
! next year's budgets had not been finalized. There isn't a penny anywhere, with the exception of the
City. The house mover's quote is all predicated on the relocation of the building to the southeast corner
of North Olmsted Park. Any other location is going to increase the moving cost tremendously. He
picked the closest available lot that is City owned for these purposes. The house movers indicated
$32,800. The Illuminating Company, for a two-block line movement with Decker being put off line for
about 2 hours, would cost $11,700. SBC would cost $3,500 and Adelphia $1,800 and both of those are
minimums. The foundation work for a full basement would be at least $10,000. To put in a crawl space
is $5,000. HVAC, preservation of the existing furnace but replacement of ductwork if necessary, would
be $1,000. It would be $4,500 for a new furnace and ductwork. A minimum total is $55,800 and a high
of $64,300 and that is without the items listed at the bottom of the mover's report such as re-hooking the
building up to CEI, SBC connections. The mover indicated 4 feet of the chimney would have to come
off to get it down the street. The cost did not include being set on the foundation or pad. There would
have to be a sewer connection, exterior repairs, interior repairs, and any other incidental items that could
be estimated at a minimum of $10,000. Mr. Lang said they are really looking at a high of $75,000 and
at $65,000 for a low estimate. There has been homework done and they know what they are looking at.
If they don't put it in the budget, it is not going to happen. Even if they don't want it to happen. There
was a lengthy discussion about whether to include the building move in the budget. Mr. Nasher
expressed disappointment at the thought of moving the building to the park. Other locations that have
been discussed in the past were then mentioned. Mrs. Lord brought up that she spoke with someone
about the Barton Road Church. The person she spoke with said he will try to get together with the
person that is somewhat interested in the church. She said she will continue to find out what she can
about this person with a family connection to the church. The church is a North Olmsted landmark,
? although the sign is inissing. There was a discussion of the condition of the church and some of its
history.
VIII. ADJOLTRNMENT: Chairman Lang adjourned the meeting at 9:27 p.m.
M?,M
J e: ang, Chai an Dat Annie Kilbane, Assistant Clerk of Commissions
?' 10
