1. A variance for installing 2 signs on drive through canopy, (code does not permit, applicant <br />shows 2, (#1)). <br />Note: #1 Drive through canopies by definition do not qualify as a canopy (must be over a <br />building entrance). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1163.25) &(1163.28 A). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. O'Reilly <br />with Apex Signs, and Mr. Blevins with Republic Bank each came forward to be sworn in and <br />review the request. The applicant reviewed that the owner of the building will only allow the <br />bank to place signs on the canopy area. They would like to replace the canopy signs that were <br />removed when the canopy was replaced. The law department advised the board to inquire the <br />intent of the applicants with respect to their ground sign. The applicants voiced that they <br />would return in about 6 months to address the ground sign but would not address it at this <br />time. <br />J. Maloney moved to grant Republic Bank of 26777 Lorain Road Unit #1: their request <br />for variance (1123.12), which consists of erecting 2 signs over drive through canopy and <br />that the following variances are granted: 1). A variance for installing 2 signs on drive <br />through canopy, (code does not permit, applicant shows 2, (#1)). Which is in violation of <br />Ord. 90-125 section (1163.25) &(1163.28 A). W. Kremzar seconded the motion, which <br />was unanimously approved. Variance Granted <br />IV. COMMUNICATION: <br />Mr. O'Malley reviewed that the board was served with a notice of appeal and a precipice from <br />the Berg family. The judge that was selected is Mary Jane Boyle and a complete set of <br />records is to be presented to the court by June 9, 2004. The Law Department will guide the <br />clerk in her task to compile and submit an accurate and complete set of records to the court. <br />IV. ADJOURNMENT: <br />J. Maloney moved to adjourn the meeting. N. Sergi seconded the motion which was <br />unanimously approved.
