Commission Meeting
May 14, 1997
Page Five

reduce the noise level so it is not annoying and distracting. Mr. Dolansky stated that this was an
isolated problem due to the fact that they do not host many business meetings in the Ballroom yet.
During weddings and other dancing events the noise from the kitchen is not discernible over
music. He stated that he would issue a memorandum requesting that kitchen staff be quite during
business affairs.

There was also some discussion regarding financing some notes as a result of the recently passed
levy to do some capital improvements to the Recreation Center in 1998. Mr. Dolansky stated that
property reassessments were supposedly being performed this year and any increases would be
accrued beginning in 1998. He was not sure at this time what amount this would total. Mr.
Dolansky also noted that it was his understanding that in the year 2002 a large portion of debt
service will be eliminated from General Fund expenditures as the Recreation Center is totally paid
off. Hopefully a portion of these funds could remain in service towards continued improvements
to parks and recreation facilities.

There being no further business, a motion was made, seconded and passed unanimously to
adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m.

______________________________ ____________________________
Dave Gardner, Chairman Patricia Scott, Secretary
