<br /> <br /> <br />NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />JANUARY 15, 2001 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting called to order: 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Attendance: Claire Hayes, Chairman <br /> Tom Jenkins, Safety Director <br /> Debbie Adams, Member <br /> Duane Limpert, City Council Member <br /> Richard Scott, Member <br />Todd Morgan, Commissioner <br /> <br />Absent: Dave Gardner, Member <br /> Tim Scott, Vice Chairman <br /> <br />During roll call, it was established that Richard Scott was re-appointed, but will relinquish his <br />appointment. He has agreed to stay on the committee until a new appointee for the school board <br />has been established. Also, Tim Smith’s term expired at the end of December (2000) and he will <br />not return. The Mayor will appoint a new member. <br /> <br />Claire Hayes called for elections. Rich Scott nominated Claire Hayes for Chairman, with a second <br />nomination by Duane Limpert. Votes were taken and all were in favor. <br />Claire Hayes mentioned she spoke with Dave Gardner regarding the Vice-Chairman Position. <br />Mr. Gardner said that he would accept the position as long as there were no expectations. Duane <br />Limpert, then, nominated Dave Gardner for Vice Chairman, with a second by Rich Scott. Votes <br />were taken and all were in favor. <br /> <br />Minutes for November 2000 meeting were reviewed and changes were noted. It was mentioned <br />to the secretary to keep the minutes limited to 3 pages, if possible, summarizing business matters. <br />Be sure minutes are included in commission packets. Claire Hayes made a request for motion to <br />approve minutes. Motion made by Duane Limpert and second by Debbie Adams. Vote was <br />taken and motion approved. <br /> <br />REPORT BY MR. TODD MORGAN, RECREATION COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />Mr. Morgan introduced the new Recreation Center Secretary, Beth Ann Bunevich and stated the <br />Rec Center is now at full staff. <br /> <br />Capital Improvements: <br />Flooring is complete in concession and locker area. Warming area to be completed when rink is <br />shut down in the spring. Dynalink has been awarded the rink sound / event lighting system. <br />Approx. $100,000 project. They have begun groundwork and look to have it wrapped up in <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />
