Visitors were <br />introduced. Mrs. Linda Powell, a tennis enthusiast and patron was present to obtain the status of <br />tennis renovations and reiterate the needs and desires of the tennis area. <br /> <br />st <br />May’s minutes were reviewed and no corrections were noted. Mr. Scott made the 1 motion to <br />nd <br />approve the minutes, with a 2 by Tom Jenkins. Roll call was taken and motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />It is noted that Mayor Musial has appointed Mrs. Sandra Sorge to the Rec Commission. Her <br />term shall run 1/1/01 through 12/31/05. <br /> <br />Let it be noted that the meeting began late due to a lack of a quorum. Meeting commenced once <br />the fourth member (Mr. Tom Jenkins) was present. <br /> <br />REPORT BY TODD MORGAN, COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />Mr. Morgan spoke about replacing the lighting system in the tennis area. He referred to a letter <br />from Timothy Norris & Assoc. regarding the tennis renovations. Estimated cost of new lighting <br />system would be $70,000. With the new lighting system, we would acquire energy savings of <br />23.75kw. Assuming $0.13/kwh for electricity cost, this would be a savings of $3.09 per hour. <br />Considering 15 hours/day x 365 days = 5,475 operating hours per year, times $3.09/hour totals a <br />savings of $16,918 per year. Thus the simple payback period for this lighting replacement would <br />be 4.13 years ($70,000 divided by $16,918). The “buzzing” ballast issue can only be resolved by <br />relocating the remote ballasts outside of the tennis court area. They also suggested a reflective <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />
