<br /> <br /> <br />NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />May 21, 2001 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting called to order: 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br />In Attendance: <br /> Dave Gardner, Vice Chairman <br />Tom Jenkins, Safety Director <br /> Paul Miller, Council Rep. Member <br />Richard Scott, Member <br />Axel Hoyer, Member <br />Todd Morgan, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br />Absent: Claire Hayes, Chairman <br /> <br />Visitors: Karrie Tipton, Gymnastics Director and <br />husband, Travis Tipton <br /> <br /> <br />Dave Gardner presided over meeting in Claire Hayes’ absence. Mr. Gardner called the meeting to <br />order at 7:06pm. Roll call was taken. Visitors were introduced. Mrs. Karrie Tipton, the <br />Gymnastics Director at the Rec Center and her husband were present as observers of the Rec <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />st <br />Last meeting’s minutes were reviewed and no corrections were noted. Paul Miller made the 1 <br />nd <br />motion to approve the minutes, with a 2 by Rich Scott. Roll call was taken and motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT BY TODD MORGAN, COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />Program/Event and Facility Updates: <br />th <br />? <br /> <br />May 5 Registration: (Residents only) All went well, although slower than in past. <br />? <br /> <br />New Spring/Summer brochure is out with the return of old programs and addition of new <br />? <br /> <br />Skate Park Opening: Held on 5/12 9:30am Even with the rain, 75-100 youngsters were in <br />attendance. There have been some complaints that no bicycles are allowed. Some of these <br />kids who donated to the fundraising for the park have requested a refund. <br />th <br />? <br /> <br />Fishing Derby: May 13 Sponsored by the North Olmsted Sportsman Club was very well <br />attended at Bunn Lake <br />th <br />? <br /> <br />Hot Stove Opening Day Parade: May 19 All went well. The weather cooperated. The <br />Mayor and members of City Council were in attendance. Slider made an appearance as well. <br />Page 1 <br /> <br />
