?

Two new basketball courts/New location
?

Mr. Hoyer expressed concern that the tennis courts as proposed in the new plan are too close
to Diamond #5. His feeling is that foul balls will be an issue.
?

Mr. Hoyer suggested to place the horseshoe pits by the auxiliary parking lot at the north end
of the park and tennis courts.
?

Mr. Miller suggested it may be a good idea to consider placing new tennis courts behind Rec
Center
?

Mr. Jenkins suggested to scale back to a couple tennis courts, put in new basketball courts
and replace some parking. Also, move tennis to north end and keep parking and horseshoe
pits as is –or- put courts at the Rec Center -or- put 2 at park and 1-2 behind Rec Center
?

Mr. Stein will be meeting with Ralph Bohlman and Chagrin Valley Engineers to review the
plan and make revisions.
?

Mr. Travis Tipton, who is a civil engineer, shared a few suggestions and insights.
?

Mr. Gardner suggested that all review the plan and bring their suggestions to the next
meeting.

This concludes Mr. Morgan’s report.

REPORT BY MR. TOM JENKINS, SAFETY DIRECTOR
None.

SUB-COMMITTEE REPORT
None.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Miller inquired as to whether the verbage on the sign as been determined. He suggested that
the word “Parks” be eliminated, as it would suggest to those coming from outside of the
community that the park is here as well. Mr. Miller feels it would be better to just say “North
Olmsted Recreation Center (Complex)”. Mr. Hoyer also suggested that the logo be omitted to
allow for more space for the electronic display and maximize the use for information.

Mr. Miller inquired if it has been determined to utilize the funds for the dump truck to purchase
road the sign. Mr. Jenkins answered by saying, ‘we have just gone over the budget and will
probably need to suck up the funds for the dump truck to purchase the sign.’ Mr. Morgan stated
that Mr. Ralph Bohlman from the service department has agreed to loan us use of a dump truck
for 6 months. Mr. Miller asked if size-wise this truck will be adequate to do the job Mr. Stein
requires. Mr. Morgan replied by saying that he would need to ask Mr. Stein, but it is his feeling
that it will be adequate to do the job. Mr. Miller stated that council was sold on the idea of
funding a dump truck, that it was a high priority. He is concerned about the dump truck being
nixed now in lieu of the road sign. Mr. Jenkins stated that the road sign has become priority,
since it is vital to the Recreation Center’s visibility and visitation. The dump truck was sought to
allow Mr. Stein to have three crews out on the fields rather than two. The dump truck is not truly
a necessity at this time, when you consider the road sign. Mr. Miller again stated his concern that
if we put off funding the dump truck this year, next year another emergency may come up and
once again the dump truck, which he felt we needed now, will be dumped again.
