<br />NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />JANUARY 21, 2002 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order: 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />In Attendance: Claire Hayes, Chairman <br />Michael Gareau, Jr., Councilman <br />Sandy Sorge, Member <br />Axel Hoyer, Member <br />Randi Jones, Member <br />Todd Morgan, Commissioner <br /> <br />Absent: Vacant Seat-Member to be appointed by Council <br /> <br />Visitors: Linda Powell, Tennis Patron <br /> <br /> <br />After roll-call was taken, Claire Hayes called for nominations for 2002 Chairman and Vice- <br />Chairman seats. Randi Jones nominated Claire Hayes as Chairman, Sandy Sorge as Vice- <br />Chairman. This was seconded by Michael Gareau, Jr. All were in favor of said nominations. The <br />scheduled meeting day was up for discussion. Claire sought the opinion of all: Should the <br />rd <br />Commission continue to hold meetings on the 3 Monday each month, or look to scheduling a <br />rd <br />new day? It was determined to keep the meeting day as the 3 Monday of each month. Motion <br />to approve minutes from November was made by Claire; a second by Michael. No corrections or <br />additions were requested. Roll-call taken. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Linda Powell, visitor, was in attendance for observation only. She did not wish to address <br />the Commission at this time. <br /> <br />Todd Morgan stated that Jason Frolo, Program Supervisor, and George Verlich, of NOSA will <br />speak at next month’s meeting in regards to their programs. <br /> <br />REPORT BY MR. TODD MORGAN, RECREATION COMMISSIONER <br />Todd’s agenda for the evening includes a brief report, reviewing plans for North Olmsted Park <br />and Tennis lighting, to be followed by a facility tour to highlight the recent improvements, and the <br />areas which need to be addressed, as well as, the new offices and proposed fitness facility area. <br /> <br />Special Events: <br />nd <br />? <br /> <br />December 2 – Frosty Skate <br />th <br />? <br /> <br />December 9 – Santa Skate <br />st <br />? <br /> <br />December 31 - New Year’s Eve Party (7 to 10pm) attended by 240 people this year. This <br />was started 3 years ago, with 80 people at the first party, which was held from 10pm – 2am. <br />We have since changed the time, and now have a winning time. It is a family oriented night of <br />entertainment and fun. The night includes swimming, skating, basketball, volleyball, all sorts <br /> <br />
