NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION June 17, 2002 Meeting called to order: ~8:00 p.m. In Attendance: Claire Hayes, Chairman Randi Jones, Member Bill Kelley, Member Lisa Thomas, Safety Director Todd Morgan, Commissioner Absent: Michael Gareau, Jr., Councilman Visitors: Roger Gallipo, NOHC Ed Garrity, NOHC Christian Kollar, NOSA (Preliminary reports prior to official meeting) North Olmsted Hockey Club Meeting Room Improvement Proposal President Roger Gallipo Vice President Edward Garrity The North Olmsted Hockey Club has proposed to fund a $20,000 improvement to the Ice Rink Meeting Room. The room would be doubled in size. A current storage area will be converted to a class room for groups to utilize. The storage area would be enclosed with glass windows and dry wall to create a classroom for hockey teams and other groups. The work will be professionally done by members of the Hockey Club who are contractors or associated with the trades. Preliminary design plans were provided to the Recreation Commission for review. The North Olmsted Building Department will approve all plans before any construction begins. The improvements will need to meet the appropriate building codes and standards. The Hockey Club would have the first right to book the room but would not have exclusive rights the area. Representatives from the North Olmsted Hockey Club suggested that we establish rental rates for this room to increase revenue. Recreation Commissioner Todd Morgan recommended that the room rental fees be established at the following rates: $20.00 residents 1-3 hour time limits $25.00 non-residents 1-3 hour time limits North Olmsted Soccer Organization Annual Report Peter Mekes Mr. Mekes gave a presentation to inform the Recreation Commission about the goals and objectives of the club, its operations and an overview of their organizations future needs.
