MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE
NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
September 10, 2007

Meeting called to order: 7:00 p.m.

In Attendance: John J. Lasko, Jr., Chairperson
Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner

Betsy Drenski, Assistant Commissioner
John Dailey, Director, Community Life Services
Norman Baxter, Member
Terry Groden, Member
Chris Scarl, Member

Visitors: Ed Garrity, NOHC
Julie Nader
Kathy Smith

Mr. Lasko opened the meeting and roll call was taken.

Everyone then stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 6, 2007

Mr. Lasko asked the Commission members if they had any changes or corrections to the Minutes as
submitted for August 6, 2007. There being none, Mr. Lasko moved to accept the Minutes from the
Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission for August 6, 2007; seconded by Mr. Scarl. All in
favor signified with an aye, and the Motion passed unanimously.

Upon Motion made by Mr. Lasko and duly seconded by Mr. Barker, the Minutes of July 23, 2007
were approved unanimously.

VISITORS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION

Ms. Julie Nader, 4411 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted, came to listen to the Rec Commission meeting,
being interested in the plans for the Rec Center and the appointment to the Commission. Mr. Lasko
said that the Master Plan for the Recreation Department was approved by the Commission and by
Council about a month ago. If Ms. Nader has not seen the Plan, Mr. Lasko was sure that Mr. Dailey
could make that available for her, which she said she had received. Other than the day-to-day matters
of the operation of the Parks and Recreation Department, the Commission is not considering this
evening anything else about the overall Master Plan for recreation in the City of North Olmsted. Mr.
Lasko said he was sure it would come up at a future date when the Administration has had time to
refine the plans that they have presented and some of the discussion that the Rec Commission believes
is going on with interested parties but, at the moment it’s status quo. In terms of the appointment on
the Commission, there is one opening, and that is subject to the Mayor’s discretion.
