MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE
NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
December 3, 2007

Meeting called to order: 7:01 p.m.

In Attendance: John J. Lasko, Jr., Chairperson
Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner
Norm Baxter, Member
Terry Groden, Member
Chris Scarl, Member

Visitors: Jennifer Rudolph
Miguel Cora

Mr. Lasko opened the meeting and roll call was taken.

Everyone then stood and recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

First Order of Business

Mr. Lasko welcomed everyone, noting that, because of the Christmas Tree Lighting at Springvale, a
few of the other members could not be here.

VISITORS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION

The Chairperson then asked if either of the visitors had anything they would like to specifically raise or
address to the members of the Rec Commission. Ms. Rudolph, 3329 Walter Road, said that she had
one quick question: she knew that as regards to the tennis courts there was a lot of noise and it had
something to do with the ballasts and they were replaced on Courts 1 and 2. Mr. DiSalvo said they
were being replaced. Ms. Rudolph wondered if they were being replaced on Courts 3 and 4 as well.
Mr. DiSalvo said that it is being done court by court and that should be winding up very soon. Why it
takes so long is that the maintenance crew has between 7:30 and 9:00 to do accomplish this.

Mr. Cora, 6119 Bellevue Drive, asked if there were any plans for new playground equipment for
Barton/Bradley. He identified himself as the Vice President of NOSO. Mr. Cora said the organization
was trying to attract more soccer tournaments between spring and fall, and one of the things that hurts
them is the parking situation. He knew, also, that this was an old issue, but there would be more
parking if all the leaf mulch in the back wasn’t there. Is there any talk of that matter being addressed?

Mr. Lasko asked Mr. DiSalvo if he had any information about either or both of the items Mr. Cora
mentioned. Mr. DiSalvo said that with the playground equipment there is something in the budget for
