Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
November 8, 2004

Paint Mixing Area

The area where NOSO used to mix the paint has been replaced with a nice mound of topsoil and,
subsequently, the grass is growing well. There may be a logo there or a flower plant service
project by the Girl Scouts; the area will continue to be beautified between the bathroom and the
road. The new paint mixing area is located in the back along the midfield fence by what is called
Field 4. It hasn’t been used yet but has been relocated. The paint will be mixed once the snow
melts in March or April. Mr. Koch again thanked the Rec Center and Commission for their
support of NOSO.

Grass Seed Planted

Seed was planted by NOSO but inadvertently ruined by some heavy equipment where the
reclamation work was completed. There are some deep ruts in the ground, but NOSO will work
on grass return. All equipment is currently off the field, not locked up in storage yet, but
someone will be running a tractor pulling the aeration machine.

Flagpole at Field

Mr. Koch said that the flagpole at the field has the American flag and the NOSO flag, but NOSO
would like to have a City of North Olmsted flag as well. Mr. Jesse replied that this is a good idea.

Thanks to City Workers

Mr. Koch stated that the park should be beautiful next year. People were very impressed with the
extraordinary effort of the watering machine and, again, thanks go to Dave Wendell (Forester) for
getting the water tank back and forth and repaired on one occasion.

The crews working on the job were wonderful; businesslike, workmanlike and professional. They
did a spectacular job. The quality of the work was apparent the entire time.

Equipment Storage

For the time being, the equipment will be stored in a shed and, next spring, with a new budget for
the soccer organization, will find a facility to hold the hose reel and sprinkler. Mr. Koch
envisions a dog-kennel type, coated chain link fence to contain the equipment and throw a tarp
over it. (Overlapping soft conversation.)
Page 2
