NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION September 13, 2004 Meeting called to order: 7:00p.m. In Attendance: Norm Baxter, Member Betsy Drenski, Assistant Commissioner Richard Jesse, Safety Director Randi Jones, Member; Acting Chairman Anna Kanis, Member John J. Lasko, Jr., Member Absent: Paul Miller, Councilman William D. Kelley, Chairman Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner Visitors: None Approval of Minutes: Ms. Jones moved to approve the Minutes of June and August (there was no July meeting). Mr. Lasko seconded the Motion; all were in favor, and the June and August, 2004 Minutes were approved unanimously. (NOTE: subsequently, typographical errors were found on pp. 8, 12 and 13 of the August minutes. Copies of these pages are enclosed herein for replacement, changes highlighted.) Report of the Recreation Commissioner by the Assistant Commissioner Basketball Courts Ms. Drenski reported confirmation was received today that the basketball standards will be installed on September 15, 2004. The standards need two days to set; then the backboards and nets will be mounted following the setting period. Once the equipment is installed, the painter is on standby to paint the free throw lines and complete the touch-up work. This project should be completed by the end of the week, barring inclement weather. Mr. Baxter commented that this undertaking has been a long time coming. Ms. Drenski replied that circumstances beyond the Rec Department’s control caused the wait because the landscaping around the courts did not “look” level, though it was, but one side looked higher than the other. Mr. Stein, Maintenance Supervisor, and the maintenance crew are handling this matter for imminent completion. Clague Park Walk Path The P.O. was submitted to begin installation of the walking path at Clague Park. The completion date is scheduled for mid-October.
