Minutes of a Meeting of
The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
April 4, 2005

be that, based upon the results of that survey, to recommend that a feasibility study be done that
would evaluate the existing Parks and Recreation facilities and the cost to renovate and/or replace
them. Then take into account the results of the survey as to any additional needs and the
quantification of any cost to provide them. Motion was made and duly seconded. There was no
discussion on the second Motion; all were in favor and signified with an “aye.” The Motion
passed unanimously.

Mr. Jesse asked Mr. Miller if he would be able to place these matters before Council on Tuesday,
April 5, 2005. Mr. Miller replied in the affirmative; that he was taking notes on the Motions.

Mr. Kelley reported to Ms. Powell that the Sub Committee is looking to expedite and is looking
to collaborate with the School Board. The School Board is having a facilities meeting on
Thursday, April 7, 2005. The School Board has used the pool and the ice rink without cost.
There will be dialogue between the Rec Center and the School Board so that some money will
come from the schools to help the Rec Center pay for the renovation of the ice rink and the pool
for the present, both in dire need.

Mr. Kelley then thanked the members of the Sub Committee. This concluded the Report of the
Sub Committee.

REPORT OF THE RECREATION COMMISSIONER

Clague Park Walk Path Project

Mr. DiSalvo reported that asphalt was just being made in April; as soon as the ground is ready,
the path will be able to be installed. It should be completed by April 15, 2005, weather
permitting. Funding for the walk path was encumbered in 2004. There is a Clague Park Fund,
with approximately $3,000 brought forward into 2005.

Security RFP Tour and Provider Meeting

nd
The Security RFP Tour and Provider Meeting went well on the 22 of March. All the potential
providers received an inside/outside tour of the facility. Six providers showed up; twelve direct
invitations were sent, and the meeting was in a classified ad as well. Nothing has been heard from
the providers as yet. Mr. DiSalvo will give them a call Tuesday, April 5, 2005, to see if there is
any additional information or floor plans that can be provided to them if they are still interested in
nd
submitting their proposal by April 22for bid. Mr. Jesse reported that prints were sent to the six
providers as they had asked: electrical plans, floor plans, HVAC plans, so that they have some
information.
Page 4
