Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
April 3, 2006
Page Four

members to spread the word. She also said that the Ice Show is always looking for businesses to
th
advertise in the program that is done. The show will be coming up May 19; everyone is working
very hard to see that this is a good program. Ms. Jones said that if everyone did not see this show, it’s
a must see for everyone, since a fine job is done. The ads will not be very expensive; there will be
business-card sizes; half size and full sheets.

This concluded the Report of the Recreation Commissioner.
REPORT OF THE SAFETY DIRECTOR

Fence at North Olmsted Park

Mr. Terbrack was unable to attend the meeting, but he asked Mr. DiSalvo to comment on the fence at
North Olmsted Park. City Hall received quite a few phone calls inquiring about the fence; the fence is
coming down after the baseball season. There is some question as to whether Hot Stove will use that
th
fence or not, but Mr. DiSalvo believes that the high school baseball season ends on June 6 and All
Scouts Weekend will be the following weekend, so without a doubt the fence will be coming down.

This concluded the Report of the Safety Director.

OLD BUSINESS

Pool Passes

Mr. DiSalvo asked for the Commission’s openmindedness on his presentation.

It was requested by the Rec Commission to do a report on actually how many passes were purchased
in ’05. This report outlines all passes which were purchased, beginning with the winter month adult
non-residents and winter month adult residents. Down the line, the resident purchases are in bold
print, so on the price look up #214, winter monthly adult resident, 104 passes were bought in ’05.
The winter month senior pass and student resident were 58 passes purchased in the winter month
family resident, 37. Going down the line, the summer month adult resident was eight purchases,
summer month senior and student (the same prices) can’t tell if they are seniors or students; however,
seven were purchased. For the summer month family resident, five were. As you go down the line,
the total number purchases were 361; that totaled $19,448. There is another attachment on the sheet
that shows the total revenue for pool, highlighted in yellow, was $151,655.86. That is the actual
spreadsheet with year-end numbers from Finance, so the percent of pass revenues to total revenue
contributes about 12.8 percent. Of the $151,655.86, pool passes generated $19,448. Further
breakdown, combined winter monthly total, resident and non-resident, breaks down to 214 passes
Minutes of a Meeting of the
Page 4
