Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
December 5, 2005

Commission. He did say that anyone on the Commission should feel free to call him at any time; he
has an open-door policy and looks forward to working with everyone.

Mr. Miller said that he has worked with Tom (Terbrack) in the past and said that anyone who does
call on him will find that he is very well informed; he is very thorough, and if he doesn’t know the
answer he will tell you and get the answer for you. Mr. Miller said that he thinks that he speaks for
John, the rest of the Administration and all of Council in that as well. Tom was excellent with the bus
line, and Mr. Miller suspects he will be nothing less in this capacity (as Safety Director).

This concluded the Report of the Safety Director.

OLD BUSINESS

Rotary Pavilion

Ms. Jones asked the status of the Rotary Pavilion. Mr. DiSalvo said that about 70% of the supplies
will be donated from Home Depot. Mr. Dailey said that Home Depot usually donates to 50l(c)(3)
entities. The City is not one; however, we are working on that matter. The Rotary does have that
status, so through the Rotary’s efforts, the Home Depot is donating the materials.

Baxter/Kanis Reappointments

Ms. Kanis asked if she and Mr. Baxter would be allowed to come back to serve on the Parks and
Recreation Commission in 2006, since their positions are Mayoral appointed ones. Mr. DiSalvo said
that Mayor O’Grady asked the Commissioner about this, and Mr. DiSalvo said that both Mr. Baxter
and Ms. Kanis were up for reappointment. Mr. Dailey said for Mr. Baxter and Ms. Kanis to report
back to the Commissioner as to their interest in serving in the future, and to let the Mayor know as
well.

Reappointment of Mr. Kelley as Chairman

Mr. Kelley said that he realized that there must be a new Chair and Co-Chair by next week. Mr.
DiSalvo asked if the Chair was a yearly appointment. Mr. Miller said it is a year. Mr. Kelley said that
he has been acting as Chairman for two years and invited anyone on the Commission to serve. Ms.
Jones said Mr. Kelley was doing a great job and moved that he continue the position; Ms. Kanis
seconded; all were in favor.

NEW BUSINESS

Participating Hockey Travel Teams

Mr. Garrity, the President of the North Olmsted Hockey Club, was asked the participation rate of the
Hockey Club compared to past years. Mr. Garrity said that it is down this year. The age group that is
Page 6
