Minutes of a Meeting of the <br />North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission <br />January 9, 2006 <br />Page Two <br /> <br /> <br />On page seven, comments made by Ms. Meredith (under Tennis) are corrected to be made by Ms. <br />Steele. <br /> <br />Upon Motion made by Ms. Kanis, seconded by Mr. Baxter, the Minutes of December 2005 were <br />approved unanimously, with the above notations. <br /> <br />SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF THE RECREATION COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Charter <br /> <br />In reviewing the Parks and Recreation charter, the Chairman and Vice Chairman positions are to be <br />designated at the January meeting of each year. The minutes reflect that Mr. Kelley was re-nominated <br />for the Chairman position, but a Vice Chairman position remains vacant. The Rec Commission should <br />nominate a Vice Chairman. Mr. Kelley said that this position would be filled by someone who would <br />be flexible. Mr. Baxter suggested that the Commission nominate the person who has been on the <br />Commission the longest, being Randi Jones. Upon Motion made and duly seconded, the nomination <br />of Ms. Randi Jones was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Aquatic Supervisor <br /> <br />Mr. DiSalvo introduced Ms. Susan Skuza to the Parks and Recreation Commission as the new <br />Aquatic Supervisor, who began on January 2, 2006. Susan’s background includes five years’ <br />experience at Seven Hills and Broadview Heights as an aquatic director and various management <br />related aquatic experiences since 1992. Susan graduated from OSU with a BA in Rec Education with <br />an emphasis in aquatic and sport management. Her current certifications include: LG, WSI, First Aid, <br />CPR, CPO, USA Swim coach, LGTI, Basic Sailing, Baby Sitting and SCUBA. Susan was returning <br />to the pool at 7:15 p.m. for lessons, and the Commissioner thanked her for her time. Ms. Skuza said it <br />was nice to meet the Commission members and stated it has been great working with Mr. DiSalvo and <br />Ms. Drenski, and that she looks forward to the future at the North Olmsted Rec. The Commission <br />members welcomed Ms. Skuza, and the new Aquatic Supervisor left the meeting to return to her <br />duties. <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />
