Recreation Commission Meeting
June 5, 2006
Page Six

talked with people and there is no advertising. There must be something put up on the marquee in
front of City Hall or at the Park. Ms. Drenski said there was a higher attendance this year – over
1,000 people for the weekend. Ms. Jones said that if people don’t walk into the Rec Department, they
will not see it. It was out of this world. This year Jeff Marshall danced with his wife this year. Ms.
Drenski asked when Ms. Jones went; she replied she attended the 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ms. Drenski
asked Ms. Jones if Jeff did his jump; Ms. Jones said somewhat of a jump. Ms. Drenski said that Jeff
could do a split jump where he touches his toes with his legs straight out. Ms. Jones said the cutest
act was the Mini-Mouse/Mickey Mouse kids who skated slowly. It was so funny. When the encore
came, all the kids skated all the way down and around; one little kid got smart and went straight
across. Anyway, Ms. Jones said, the Commission missed out on a good thing.

North Olmsted Community Council

Ms. Jones stated that the North Olmsted Community Council gave money to put into the Endowment
Capital Fund for electricity at the Pavilion, and as soon as the electrician finds time to do it, it will be
done. Also, the benches were ordered. Sixty benches will be used at Homecoming around the rides.
When they are not being used there, they will be placed around the park. The cost was less than
$14,000 for everything.

Restrooms

Ms. Jones said that Ted (DiSalvo) reported that the bathrooms at the park will not happen until next
year. Is this correct, Paul? Mr. Barker said he wasn’t sure. The way the funding works is that if it
has to go to bid, so it will travel into next year. When the restrooms are hooked up, Community
Council will be able to run water to the Pavilion.

Playground Equipment

Mr. Baxter asked about the playground equipment. Ms. Jones said that Mr. DiSalvo said it would be
coming soon. Ms. Jones said that Ted was at the Community Council meeting to thank us. Ms.
Drenski said she was under the impression the playground equipment was going to be installed by fall.

VISITOR’S OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION

Mr. Sanborn arrived late (approximately 7:30 p.m.) to the meeting for observance purposes; he will be
mailed a copy of the June Minutes for his information.

Recreation Commission Meeting
Page 6
