Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
May 1, 2006
Page Four

Mr. Kelley said that he would entertain a Motion regarding the fence. Mr. Terbrack said that the
Motion he would like to make is that the Commission recommend to the Commissioner to deny the
request of Hot Stove to keep the fence at North Olmsted Park installed until July 31, 2006; Mr. Kelley
seconded. All were in favor, and the Motion passed unanimously.

The fence will be taken down by June 7 or 8, 2006, when the school high school program is finished.
Mr. Lasko said that there has been great weather this spring and that there have been very few
rainouts or delays.

Ice Show

Ms. Drenski then passed out brochures for the ice show to the Rec Commission members.

This concluded the Report of the Assistant Recreation Commissioner.
REPORT OF THE SAFETY DIRECTOR

Pool Rates

Mr. Terbrack reported that the pool rates should be with City Council Wednesday night, May 3, 2006.
This matter will probably go into Committee, as Mr. Barker indicated. At that point there will be a
Committee meeting to discuss the different range increases. There were no rates differentiated
between summer and winter; there will be one monthly rate. Hopefully, Council will agree to the
proposal. Mr. Barker repeated that it will be up for suspension; however, he does not believe it will
go through. It will be assigned to Committee Meeting, next Tuesday or Wednesday, and it will
probably be passed the following Council meeting. Mr. Kelley asked who was on the Committee. Mr.
Barker replied that they are Michael Gareau, Jr. and Nicole Dailey Jones.

Rotary Shelter

Mr. Terbrack said that the Rotary Shelter was taken down at the Park. There are no funds currently
for replacement. It may be, with the Rec Master Plan going forward, that location is bad for the
shelter. The drawings and materials have not been supplied by Home Depot. There are a number of
issues with putting the Shelter back up. The entire structure was in bad shape and had to be taken
down. Currently, there are no plans to put it back up. Mr. Baxter said that it’s regrettable, since
we’re heading into summertime, and the shelter could be used for that.

This concluded the Report of the Safety Director.
Page 4
