Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
May 1, 2006
Page Five

OLD BUSINESS

Fence Around Basketball Courts

Mr. Baxter asked about the fence around the basketball courts, noting that he thought the basketball
courts were going to be enclosed, or there was going to be more fencing. Ms. Drenski said that was
never the plan in the budget; it was just left that it would be under discussion. Mr. Kelley said that he
remembered that Mr. Miller questioned whether or not they would be totally enclosed at one time; at
that time, Mr. DiSalvo said that there was no funding, and that the Rec Department was going to
check with other communities. Ms. Drenski said that some were partial; some were total. The fence
now is between the basketball court and the volleyball court; Ms. Drenski does not believe there is any
plan to change that.

Volleyball Nets

Ms. Kanis asked if the volleyball nets were up. Ms. Drenski said they were. Ms. Kanis said she had a
lot of calls Easter weekend for the volleyball nets being up. Ms. Drenski said they were put up on a
Friday or Saturday; she believed it was Easter weekend. Mr. Kelley suggested that, in the future, the
volleyball nets be up by Easter weekend.

NEW BUSINESS

Mikel Rothenberg

Ms. Drenski said that one of the long-time instructors, Diane Rothenberg, lost her husband this past
week. The Secretary from the Rec Commission will send a sympathy card to the family.

Election

Mr. Lasko noted that there is an election tomorrow, Tuesday, May 2, 2006, with two school issues on

the ballot, and he reminded the members of the Commission to vote.
Page 5
