The North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
October 2, 2006
Page Nine

take up about half as much room as what the current compressors do, and they would be more
efficient.

Ms. Jones thanked Mr. Sanborn for his comments and asked Mr. Garrity if he needed an answer now.
Mr. DiSalvo and Ms. Drenski both said, in no uncertain terms, that without the North Olmsted
Hockey Club there would be no Rink.

Mr. Barker asked where Olmsted Falls went. Mr. Garrity said it is Brooklyn. Ignatius is there,
Brooklyn is there, and Olmsted Falls is there. They painted the facility gold and blue: all three teams
use that color. Also, as a Councilperson and as a resident,
he hopes that when the new plan gets picked and when it is approved, there will be a line item for
maintenance and replacement of equipment. Mr. Barker sat in on meetings since 1998 and knows that
the Rec Center is like the red-headed stepchild, and there is always good talk about doing things for
the Rec Center, but then when all is said and done, there is no money left. He hopes that the
Administration is looking at, whatever the Plan, there is a maintenance and equipment replacement
area so that in the budget this money gets built up over a period of time. Then there will be money to
replace equipment when it reaches its true age.

Ms. Jones said 12 years ago, she went in with a few other people and painted the hockey area orange
and black. Mr. Garrity commented that those were the true school colors. Then there was an
Page 9
