<br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE <br />NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />January 14, 2008 <br /> <br />Meeting called to order: 7:01 p.m. <br /> <br />In Attendance: John Dailey, Director, Community Life Services <br />Mark Mahoney, Councilman <br /> <br /> Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner <br /> Betsy Drenski, Assistant Commissioner <br /> Norm Baxter, Member <br /> Terry Groden, Member <br /> Chris Scarl, Member <br /> <br />Visitors: Jennifer Rudolph <br /> Ed Garrity <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Dailey opened the meeting and roll call was taken. <br /> <br />First Order of Business <br /> <br />Mr. Dailey said that before the Commission would entertain the Visitors’ Opportunity to Address the <br />Commission, he wanted to move into the business of electing a new Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for the year 2008. That being said, Mr. Terry Groden was <br />nominated Chairperson by Mr. Dailey. After Motion duly made and seconded, the Motion passed <br />unanimously. Mr. Dailey then congratulated Mr. Groden on his election as new Chairperson. <br /> <br />Mr. Dailey then nominated Mr. Chris Scarl as Vice Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. Mr. Scarl politely declined, citing reasons he would get into later in the meeting as his <br />reason for not accepting. Mr. DiSalvo asked who the Vice Chairperson was last year. It was noted <br />that Anna Kanis had been the Chairperson (until she resigned), and John Lasko, as Vice Chairperson, <br />moved up to Chairperson at that time. Mr. Dailey nominated Mark Mahoney to be Vice Chairperson; <br />the Motion was seconded and approved unanimously. <br /> <br />VISITORS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION <br /> <br />After the meeting was turned over to Mr. Groden, Ms. Rudolph acknowledged that she was in <br />attendance as an observer of the meeting only and for comment, if necessary, as the meeting <br />progressed. Note: Mr. Garrity entered the meeting minutes later. <br /> <br />
