Minutes of a Meeting of the
North Olmsted Parks and Recreation Commission
March 3, 2008

Mr. Dailey said that much of what Ms. Thomas has done back there has been tending to damage or
vandalism by cleaning it up herself or taking care of getting product to clean it up, correct? She said
that was correct but, she always found out who does it, and they are usually there helping her. She
told one kid she caught that she doesn’t know what the punishment is for defacing city property, and it
was very minimal things to be done. She told him to meet her at the skate park on the next Friday;
we’ve got some caulking to do, and he was there, staying for six hours. He’s there skating every time
she’s there. He’s going to tell his friends, too. That’s how Ms. Thomas has been handling the matter.

Mr. Groden asked if there were any other questions.

Ms. Thomas repeated that she’d like to get the cleanup; she’d like to get the competition; she’d like to
get the last phase when Mr. Jesse wanted a report – Phase I, Phase II, Phase III…in 1998, when Ms.
Thomas thinks the plans were purchased, that little piece of land was all done…this is the final phase.
It was a long-term phased project planned all along. Mr. Dailey said the Administration will follow up
on her wishes.

Ms. Thomas thanked the Commission for their time.

Mr. Groden asked if there was anything else from the visitors.

Inclement Weather Policy/Hockey Club

Mr. Garrity said that the change in the inclement weather policy was very beneficial to the Hockey
Club. This was play-off weekend for them; the schools were closed but the Rec was open, so he was
able to get the Club to practice an extra day for all his teams. Mr. Dailey said he heard the Mites
thth
won…Mr. Garrity said that the Mites one; the Second Bantam team (7 and 8 Graders) went 16-0,
for an undefeated season. All six teams went to the championship game; two lost in overtime; one lost
3-1; one lost 3-0; and two won.

Mr. Dailey asked Mr. Garrity to get the above information out to a few of the local papers and/or the
City Administration and/or Council. He thought it was good information to be shared about the
success of the program. Mr. Garrity said he would.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 4, 2008

Mr. Groden asked if anyone had any comments about the Minutes or if anyone wanted to make a
Motion to approve the Minutes, as written. Ms. Nader said that, before he moved, she had one
proceed
comment: on the first page, the last line, it might read that “Hot Stove is proposing to with a
put forth
private contractor with LawnCo”; (or something other than) “Hot Stove is proposing to
with a private contractor with Lawn Co” – so noted and initialed in the Minutes by Mr. Groden.
Upon Motion duly made, seconded and approved unanimously upon that amendment, the Minutes of
February 4, 2008 passed unanimously.

Page 4
