MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION January 5, 2009 Meeting called to order: 7:01 p.m. In Attendance: Terry Groden, Chairperson Mark Mahoney, Councilman, Vice Chairperson Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner John Dailey, Director, Community Life Services Betsy Drenski, Assistant Commissioner Chris Wetmore, Program Supervisor Norm Baxter, Member John J. Lasko, Jr., Member Julie Nader, Member Chris Scarl, Member Visitor: Jennifer Rudolph Mr. Groden opened the meeting with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance by all before roll call was taken. VISITORS’ OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION After the meeting was turned over to Mr. Groden, Ms. Rudolph acknowledged that she was in attendance as an observer of the meeting only and for comment, if necessary, as the meeting progressed. First Order of Business Mr. Lasko asked if there were any appointments or reappointments to the Parks and Recreation Commission. The secretary said that the earliest term retirement would be the end of 2010. Mr. Lasko then asked for the nomination of a Chair and Vice Chair, technically a one-year appointment, so that the Minutes are correct. Mr. Lasko then said he would nominate Terry Groden to serve as Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation Commission for calendar year 2009. Mr. Scarl seconded. There were no other nominations. All in favor signified by an aye, none opposed, and the Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Lasko then nominated Mr. Mahoney to continue in his position as Vice Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation Commission for the calendar year 2009; Ms. Nader seconded. All in favor signified by an aye; none opposed, and the Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Groden thanked Mr. Lasko for his input on the appointments.
