Advertising Cont.:

Ted: If the Hockey Club generated that revenue from advertising set up an endowment account whatever is in
the endowment account goes to the Rink. Every group can have its own endowment account and then put it
back in. If you want to improve the Rink I don’t see any problem with that. Charlie: Were do we go next? How
does this have to be purposed and written? Is that something that comes from you? Ted: I will have to see the
Mayor about this. Kim: Kevin is definitely about advertising in the Rink but you will have to contact the Law
Director. I did read something about there is concept people and detail people, I tend to be the detail person.
When somebody says this is a great idea how do we make this work? So I’m working with the Law Director on
how it can work. If you have a model in a different community that you can share that is excellent. To form an
agreement especially if there are multiple groups that could be a challenge. If the City takes in revenue for
advertising are our hands tied about how we can use it? What if something goes wrong with the Pool and we
don’t have the money but here we have this pot. So there are a few little concerns, nothing that can’t be worked
out but it is a little more complex. It is going to take some work to figure how we can protect the interest of the
people doing the fundraising and how we can protect the best interest of the building as a whole. We will work
it out, but if you have models that is the best way. Ted: So the buildings you met with were strictly Ice Rinks?
Charlie: Yes, private. Charlie: I don’t want the Ice Hockey parents to do all this work and they go were going
to get the money from you and the money’s gone, I want to make sure that it’s black and white so latter on it’s
not said we raised this money and it’s going to the Pool so Mike will figure it out the legalities of it. And we
would appreciate you guys going up there and being involved. Norm: I think you have to consider and I
understand what you are saying but the people that come for hockey also use the parking lot, use the lobby,
there’s wear and tear on the building in general. So that it’s not as if everything that they raise should
necessarily and have to go just into the Rink because there is other repair and maintenance that flow from any
user of this building that also ought to be covered in some fashion. It would seem to me again just to say that
100% of the dollars should go to the Rink in fact when in fact then the facility has to bear other costs associated
with visitor or attendance at the Rink. Kevin: I see what you are saying with the black top for the parking lot or
something else going on at the Rink. It is something we should look into but it does seem like a great idea, we
should keep it moving and not just talk about it a year from now. Tim: Plus it’s a benefit to the local businesses
and restaurants, as I mentioned to Kevin before I was refereeing a game and a team from Pittsburgh was played a
game at Winterhurst and there was another game that afternoon and there standing around here at 11:30 saying
what do you guys want to do where should we go and I thought if Applebee’s had a sign up here and Red Robin
and Arturo’s and all these locations that would be a win for everyone. Julie: Plus it promotes community
involvement too. Karen: When you go into a Rink and see all these businesses back your program it gives them
the notion that this is a great community. Terry: So this sounds like this is a good idea, there are just a lot of
details that need to be worked through. But it definitely sounds like something we should pursue. (Tim Smith
excuses himself)

Old Business:

Terry: Is there any old business? Kim: Anything going on with the skate park camera? Ted: That’s ongoing, I
know Mark has three or four quotes. Kim: So that’s moving right? Ted: Right. Julie: Are we past the legal on
that? Kim: There was no legal problem. Julie: That’s good news. Terry: Did we do the contract with Coke?
Ted: Yes. Are they going to provide the recyclable containers? Ted: Yes, we just received ten in today.

Old Business Cont.:
Page 9
