RECREATION COMMISSION
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
26000 LORAIN ROAD
MINUTES FOR FEBRUARY 7, 2011
7:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER

Mr. Groden called the meeting to order at 7:00 at the Recreation Complex Administrative
Offices and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mr. Groden was re-elected as Chairperson.

ROLL CALL

Present: Terry Groden, Kevin Kearney, Ed Garrity, Paul Ruggles

Absent: Marty Clancy, Chris Scarl

Staff: Betsy Drenski, Commissioner; Chris Wetmore, Assistant Commissioner;
Erin Figueira, Aquatics Supervisor

Visitor: Lenore Medykowski, Cleveland Edges; Linda Powell, Patron; Roger Galippo,
North Olmsted Hockey Club

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

December minutes to be tabled until the next meeting.

COMMISSIONER:

st
Ms. Drenski introduced Erin Figueira the Aquatics Supervisor that was hired January 31.
She previously worked for Bay Village in the same capacity and comes to us with a lot of
experience. We have done some reorganizing and have decided to omit the full time Enrichment
Supervisor and add a full time Aquatic Supervisor position to give the pool area the attention
that is needed. The pool revenues have not been up for some time and with having made it a
full time position there will be more attention to staff related costs along with bringing in some
new programs will help increase revenue.
