th
In an attempt to make the 4 of July Celebration a little more exciting, we have approached the
Mayor and Mr. Gareau to invite different organizations to participate in the parade along with
the bicycles, as well as anyone else interested in participating. Along with the hot dogs, there
will also be new games, events and inflatable’s which will take place at North Olmsted Park.

Ms. Drenski stated that Rochelle Molnar from the Sea Turtles will be coaching the Summer
Swim Team this year. We are hoping to bring more competition and substance to the program.

Concerning building updates, the family changing room is now complete and we have received
favorable feedback. The new compressor has been installed so we now have 8 that are functioning.

Mr. Ruggles commented that he will check with the high school to see if any of the teams would
like to participate in the parade.

The Rink will shut down Memorial Day weekend to inspect an area under the ice that appears to
be hollow and the lines on the ice will be repainted. The u-bends will also be inspected so that
we have a better idea what repairs might be needed next year. The Rink will be up and running
the last week of June.

thth
The outdoor pool will be open June 13 through September 9. The indoor pool will be shut
thth
down August 20 to be repainted and will reopen by September 6.

Revenue for February is down a little bit due to the way that Gymnastic program fees are
collected and posted. Enrichment will fluctuate with the changes that have been made to
that department.

As far as Capital improvements for 2011 we have approximately $98,000 with the roof being a
priority at this time. We had hoped to get the APR system in the Pool however that has turned
out to be extremely more expensive then we had anticipated with a cost of $200,000. We would
also like to see the parking lot at the park resurfaced as well as the front of the building with a
new floor and front desk area. We are currently getting quotes to see what projects we will be
able to do with the money if any that is left over after the roof is repaired since that is our main
priority. Once Council approves the budget the Commission will receive a copy.

We have appropriated money for some smaller projects such as a sound system for the Pool,
in the Rink a new edger, some cosmetic improvements and an automatic chemical system for
the cooling system and the Tennis floor will be resurfaced.

Concerning the road sign, it will be approximately 8 feet high and 10 feet wide. We are looking
into what part of the land is ours and what part is the dealership land. We were told the dealership
will be changing owners and this will also play a part as to what we can do. Mr. Garrity questioned
whether the funds for the sign were in the Recreation budget or the City budget. Ms. Drenski replied
that the funds are from the approval of issue 34.
