LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR THE MEETING OF JANUARY 15, 2018 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: David Neville, Jim Morse, Tom Dubowski, Sarah Egan -Reeves, Gretchen Schuler, Paul <br />Schumann <br />Absent: Elizabeth Cardarelli, Jim Dubelko <br />Guest: Kevin Kearney <br />Staff: Planning and Development Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, <br />Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to excuse the absences of Ms. Cardarelli <br />and Mr. Dubelko, motion passed 6-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Egan -Reeves, to elect Mr. Neville chair for 2018, <br />motion passed 6-0. <br />Mr. Morse moved, seconded by Mr. Neville, to elect Ms. Schuler vice chair for 2018, <br />motion passed 6-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Morse, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of November 13, 2017, motion passed 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />2018 Historic Preservation Plan <br />Mr. Dubowski was concerned about the signage being done after the Butternut Ridge Road <br />construction if the project might be a long way off into the future. Ms. Lieber anticipates that the <br />Butternut Ridge Road construction will likely be done in 2020 when the City should be able to <br />get additional funding for the project. The school project should be done in 2018. The signage <br />would be installed the year after the road project is completed. She said Mr. Schumann <br />recommended including the Butternut signage project in the Gateways Plan. Depending on the <br />specific improvement, different types of grants or funding may be available to help cover the <br />cost. Mr. Schumann believed the initial proposed signage was excessive and Ms. Lieber <br />reminded the Commission that they still need to set priorities to finalize the plan. <br />Mr. Neville asked about the status of the historic district map. Ms. Lieber suggested that the <br />Commission officially adopt the map in 2018. She will amend the plan to include improve <br />documentation by have a map that accurately reflects the district boundaries. Mr. Morse asked <br />
