His records <br />City Engineer <br />Assistant Engineer <br />Secretary <br />and the classified positions to be: <br />Survey Crew Chief <br />Chief Inspector <br />Inspector- <br />Draftsman <br />nspector- <br />Dr-aftsman <br />Clerical Assistant <br />to which positions in the Engineering <br />show the unclassified positions to be; <br />The Commissioners confirmed these classifications. <br />A letter from Daniel Jopek regarding pay raises in the Engineering Department <br />was discussed. While the Commissioners felt there is some question as to the <br />legality of Council leaving the amount of raises within a department to the <br />discretion of the Department Head, they also felt this issue is not within <br />their jurisdiction.,,,Therefore, no action was taken. <br />The classification of positions within the school system was then discussed. <br />Motion by Harry Malone, seconded by Walter Spalding, that the position of <br />Elementary School Secretary shall be classified—competitive. — <br />Passed. <br />Ohio Revised Code Section 124.40 shall be applied to extend civil service <br />coverage to those persons who are currently employed in these positions and <br />have completed the probationary period. <br />Motion by Walter Spalding, seconded by Roger Alexander, that the following <br />paragraph be adopted. <br />"The resolution of September 21,1967 is hereby clarified so that <br />the word non—classified in Section 2 is changed to unclassified. <br />Since 1967, the Board of Education has maintained a number of <br />personnel in what they have called non—classified positions. The <br />intent of this classification is to include such positions as <br />discussed in Ohio Revised Code 124.11(A) (12) to wit unskilled <br />labor positions impracticable to include in competitive—class— <br />ified service." <br />Passed. <br />Other classification changes will be considered at the next meeting. <br />
