Classification of Employees- A lengthy discussion ensued after Mrs. <br />Bahas pointed out the problems with the Commission's resolution of <br />May 27, 1976. Questions arose as to the legality of changing the resolu- <br />tion which altered the terms of the City Charter, the inclusion of <br />several positions as classified which usually were categorized as un- <br />classified and the obsolescence of several positions. The additional <br />problem of what seemed to be a great disparity between the establish- <br />ment of wages for the same position was also discussed. It was infor- <br />mally decided by the Commissioners that the whole subject of class- <br />ification should be dealt with in great detail. Mr. Couts requested <br />that Mr. Petre be allowed to address the Commission with regards to <br />the classification structure of the recreation complex. He also prom- <br />ised to provide the secretary with four copies of the latest organi- <br />zation of the complex as well as to provide the secretary with the add- <br />ress of the National Recreational Commission. This organization was <br />suggested by Mr. Couto as a possible source of information regarding <br />the certification and classification of recreational employees. The <br />Commission made no decisions following this discussion other than to <br />inform themselves as thoroughly as possible by means of input from <br />appropriate personnel and available documents before revising and up- <br />dating the classifications of the North Olmsted Civil Service Employees. <br />New Business <br />Secretary's wages -Mr. Alexander stated that the low wages for the labor <br />and responsibilities involved had been a factor in the resignations of <br />
