• <br />CITY OP'NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />FORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />MINUTES <br />January 24, 1984 <br />Minutes- Jan.24,1984 <br />Call To Order: <br />The regular meeting of the North Olmsted Civil Service <br />Commission was called to order by Phillip Huffman. In attendance were <br />the following: <br />Dean McKay - Commissioner <br />Patricia Bahas - Secretary <br />N.O. Police Chief Marion Taylor <br />N.O. Fire Chief Van Kuren <br />Phillip Huffman was selected and agreed to act as chairman of the <br />Commission for the 1984 year term. <br />Minutes : <br />Minutes of the three special work meetings held in December <br />were approved as read. Chrm. Huffman and former Commissioner had <br />previously read them in hand-written form and approved them. <br />Correspondence : <br />See attached sheets to the minutes. <br />Finance Report: <br />See attached sheet. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Examination Review and Challenge Time Frame_ <br />After discussion by the <br />Fire Chief and an explanation by the secretary, the Gomnissioners vote - <br />voted to retain the ten day period following the candidate's notifi- <br />cation of test grades for the Entry -Level Examinations.. Candidates <br />for Safety' Promotional Tests may request and have the opportunity <br />to review/c'hallenge test questions within five days of the time the <br />test is given. The Secretary was instructed to change.the'rules accord- <br />ingly. <br />Response'Time for Eligibile List Candidates <br />Discussion was held con- <br />cerning whether a candidate should have six working days from the <br />post -marked date of mailed communication or from the time the candi- <br />date received certified mail. The Commission decided to retain the <br />six day wording as'found in the regulations, since a removed candi- <br />date has the right of appeal and any other time frame ..:would interfere <br />Go with the efficiemey of the interview and hiring procedures. <br />
