Minutes - January 24, 1984 -2-
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO
MINUTES (continued)
Age -Requirement for Entry -Level. Patrolman :
Mrs. Bahas asked the
Commission's direction as to whether they wished the Ohio State
Revised Code restriction of.35 to be included in the pub-
lished announcement for the March Police Test. The Commissioners
directed the secretary to omit the age requirement as the trend
,legally, seemed to preclude the restriction and was controversial
with regards to being discriminatory.
NEW BUSINESS
Job Descriptions :
Mrs. Bahas reported that.job descriptions for the
positions of North Olmsted City Forrester and possibly for a position
within the Building Dept. Mrs. Bahas said that the Commission had
not been notified of either a vacancy or the appointment of a new
employee, but had been questioned by several citizems and other em-
ployees as to whether the filled position was under Civil Service
and as such, subject to Civil Service Testing. The Secretary in-
formed the Commission that she would contact Mr. Petre and see if
she could have the information by the next meeting. She stated that
she had not had the time to act upon this request when the commission
had informally discussed this earlier , due to the holidays and
the revision process. Mr. Corrigan had also requested additional time
as he was involved with the Federal Grant Money Project for the
Waste Water Treatment -Plant.
Adjournment:
There being no further business the meeting adjourned
at 9:10 P.M.
Respectfull submitted,
Date
Secretary
Chrm.
