CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING September 5, 1985 ROLL CALL: The regul-ar meeting of the Civil Service Commission was brought to order by Chairman Phillip Huffman at 7:35 p.m. In attendance were Commission Member Dean McKay, Secretary Sandi Westerfeld, Gene Petre and Fire Chief VanKuren. MINUTES: The minutes of the July 25 regular meeting and July 31 special meeting were approved as read with the exception that Cloe is spelled Clo and it should be Mrs. Stuebe., not Clo as pointed out by Mr. Petre. ENTRY LEVEL FIREFIGHTERS: Chief VanKuren brought to the attention of the Commission three candidates on the list who do not pass the physical standards adopted by the Commission. Dr. Huffman and Dean McKay read the reports from the various physicians for each of the three candidates in question and ruled that since they do not pass the physical standards they are removed from the certified list, motion by,Dean McKay, motion carried. POLICE DISPATCHER EXAM: Secretary Westerfeld was directed to give an exam for Police Dispatcher since the list has expired. POLICE CLERK/TYPIST: Secretary Westerfeld inquired as to whether or not the names of the candidates who passed the written test but did not pass the typing test could be given to the Police Dept. -for provisional hiring. Mrs. Westerfeld was directed to give the names in the same manner used to provide names from a certified list. BOARR OF EDUCATION - PERSONNEL: It was reported that Mr. Kline had requested the entire certified list for Secretary II and Secretary Westerfeld was directed to submit the names required from that list as she does with all the other lists for certified candidates. ENGINEERING INSPECTORS: According to a conversation with Law Director Gareau, Engineering Inspectors are not certified. Secretary Westerfeld will be checking further on this matter. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCE: Request for information as to why the Assistant Director of'Finance is classified was brought to Secretary Westerfeld. Dean McKay will check on this matter.
