MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />September 5, 1985 <br />Page 2 <br />TYPING EXAMINATIONS: <br />Regarding the problem of substantial numbers of candidates failingms the tbecome <br />exams being given, the Commission ruled that the typing <br />part of the interview process. <br />RECREATION DEPARTMENT: <br />Since Mr. Couts did not receive his requestto attend tthe hat she meting in not inform enouhhmtime, <br />he was not present. Secretary Westerfeld <br />of <br />the meeting until the day before the meeting and would send a letter to him <br />requesting he attend the next meeting. <br />BOARD OF EDUCATION - SECRETARY II: <br />It was resorted to the Commission that nwasareturnedter by theopostgofficef her opUponng, <br />rank and required attendance at typing exam <br />checking, Secretary Westerfeld found that the address on the envelope. was correct <br />and that the post office erred in not delivering same. Two telephone calls were <br />placed in an attempt to reach the candidate by phone and the phone was disconnected. <br />Therefore, the candidate was removed from the list, since it appeared that the <br />candidate had moved. Several days later Secretary Westerfeld received a call from <br />the candidate since she had not heard any results from the written exam. In the <br />discussion that followed, Secretary Westerfeld learned that the address on -the <br />application was correct and that the candidate had installed a new telephone and <br />was without phone service for several days. The Commission ruled that <br />she <br />gwouldiventbe <br />reinstated on the list provided the candidate passes the same typing <br />all the other candidates.
