J MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING July 23, 1987. Page #2 OLD BUSINESS: POLICE DEPARTMENT: Test for Police Sergeant was held on July 15, 1987 at the High School. Nineteen candidates were tested for this position that evening and results of the test will be reviewed by the commissioners at the August meeting. The commission will notify all candidates promptly. Letter sent to Chief Marsh requesting that letters of intent to take a test be forwarded to the candidates by civil service. The receipt of these notices will enable the commission to maintain a current count of candidates interested in testing. Chief Marsh acknowledged receipt of the letter and stated the department would be willing to comply with the request. CITY CLERK WRITTEN EXAMINATION: Commission members opened the envelopes identifying the participants in the City Clerk test given by the commission on June 30, 1987. Three.of the candidates were brought forward from the previous certified list. Twelve candidates passed this examination and will be notified of the date and time for the typing test which will be given August 12th at the high school. After this list is established, and candidates certified and ranked, the commission will notify the mayor and interview procedures can commence for the position at the Senior Center. SENIOR CENTER PERSONNEL: Military credit for the clerk at the Senior Center was disucssed and a request for same was studied by the commission. The commission will ask for a legal opinion on this matter. NORTH OLMSTED SCHOOLS: Mr. James Kline, Director of Personnel, notified that there is an established list of certified, ranked civil service candidates for the Secretary I position within the North Olmsted City Schools. Mrs. Lynn Lesick, the secretary in the position at the present time scored second on the written examination and will be permanently placed in this position. The -certified list will be current for a period of two years. SCHOOL BUS MECHANIC: The commission will schedule a meeting with Mr. Kline, Mr. Leonard Frick, Director,of Transportation to go`over testing materials.
