Wendt related we <br />would like to starting moving because of the vacancy occuring in June. <br />Boyle stated that council should be passing the organization chart and <br />that is where he would like to have it inserted. Then he can come back <br />to the commission with a better idea. Madeline stated that this is a <br />reorganizational change regardless of the present situation. Mr. Boyle <br />related that his successor would also be able to hire the person with <br />the necessary qualifications for the job if this testing process is <br />enacted. Madeline stated that personnal management is a major function <br />of any organization and this is a big enough organization that a major <br />portion of the operation has been completely ignored. Boyle: Did you <br />ever see an organization of about 400 employees and not one person in <br />charge of personnel? Wendt stated that in the past some of the <br />decisions civil service was asked to make were on personnel matters - <br />and we are not personnel. Discussion on personnel followed, Madeline <br />related to Boyle did he give anny thought to a data entry person <br />position? Boyle acknowledged he had that in his submission. <br />Wendt requested that Boyle let the commission know if council approves <br />his proposal and we will go ahead and make plans for a testing process. <br />Boyle further stated he wanted the commission to be aware of the test <br />possibility. <br />Mr. Boyle was thanked by the commission for appearing at this meeting. <br />Meeting adjourned at_ ___ <br />Typed as verbatim/non-verbatim by Peg Hill to be condensed into minutes <br />of March 24, 1988 meeting. <br />
