CIVIL SERVICE MEETING - JUNE 22, 1989
Page #3
Mrs. Brookshire made a statement defending the integrity of the
commission pointing out the fact that all the commissioners were
volunteers trying to do the very best job. We need to review the
promotional examination chapter, as shown on pages 13 and 14, of the
rules and make the necessary revisions. We are familiar with the entry
level test as we give these much more frequently but as stated we do not
give a promotional test that often we will take some of the suggestions
here tonight under consideration when the review time for this chapter
occurs.
Sgt. Ruple in exiting thanked the commission for their honesty in
admitting there was a mistake in communication.
Meeting resumed.
MINUTES
The minutes of the May meeting approved as submitted.
NEW BUS I NESS
Mr. James Kline of the Horth Olsmted Schools was sent a letter by the
commission on June 8, 1989 inviting him, or his designee, to this
meeting of the commission, but as of 5.:20 P.M. has not appeared at this
meeting. If Mr. Kline needs to inquire about the foreman position we
would like him to appear at our next regular meeting.
REPORTS
A report on the test activities and placement of classified ads were
forwarded to Mr. Richard Noble per -his request. Mr. Noble has been
contacted by NAACP and civil service information was required for a
meeting to be held within a week.
OTHER
The commission agreed to absent the July and August meetings and to
resume meeting in September.
Mee,7,d,ourued at 5:45 P.
