CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />CIVIL SERVICE MEETING: JULY 26, 1990• <br />PRESENT: Commissioners - Robert Wendt, Henry Robinson <br />Secretary - Tracy Ice <br />GUEST: Safety Director - Ernest Gundy <br />MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Secretarial II Examination is set for August 15, 1990 at 7;OO pm at the <br />North Olmsted High School. As of -this meeting we have 37 applications and <br />we are still receiving lots of telephone calls and applications are still <br />being picked up. The deadline date for applications is August 1,'19'90. <br />Bob Wendt will be the testor and then we.will use one monitor for every <br />30 candidates. All candidates must -have an application on file with the <br />civil service commission before taking the test - an applicatcion at the <br />high school will not enable you to take the test. <br />Tracy Ice checked with the high school "on the status of the IBuilding <br />Permits for the Secretary II position and the Dispatcher position; <br />Tracy left a message and is waiting Mr. Birney to call her back. <br />We will get the testing material from Mc -Cann & Associates and will use <br />the clerical test. Paper and pencils will be available if the candidates. <br />desire to use them. <br />Henry Robinson mentioned that the E1 Nuevo Dia Newspaper was not very <br />cooperative and Henry said that the next time we run an ad that we <br />should use another minority newspaper instead of the E1 Nuevo, Dia. Henry <br />has another paper in mind at this time. <br />Radio Dispatcher ads have gone to. the papers and the first ad runs on <br />July 26, 1990. This test will be given on August 23, 1990 at 7:00 pm <br />at the North' Otlmsted High School. We have been receiving telephone calls <br />and applications have started to be picked up at the reception"desk. at <br />City Hall. <br />'Robert Wendt advised the comM ssion that the third.l-ine item budget has been <br />added and this will help breakdown where the commission's money is being <br />spent (due to the expense of physicals etc. for the police department). <br />
