CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO CIVIL SERVICE MEETING: JULY 26, 1990• PRESENT: Commissioners - Robert Wendt, Henry Robinson Secretary - Tracy Ice GUEST: Safety Director - Ernest Gundy MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ. OLD BUSINESS: Secretarial II Examination is set for August 15, 1990 at 7;OO pm at the North Olmsted High School. As of -this meeting we have 37 applications and we are still receiving lots of telephone calls and applications are still being picked up. The deadline date for applications is August 1,'19'90. Bob Wendt will be the testor and then we.will use one monitor for every 30 candidates. All candidates must -have an application on file with the civil service commission before taking the test - an applicatcion at the high school will not enable you to take the test. Tracy Ice checked with the high school "on the status of the IBuilding Permits for the Secretary II position and the Dispatcher position; Tracy left a message and is waiting Mr. Birney to call her back. We will get the testing material from Mc -Cann & Associates and will use the clerical test. Paper and pencils will be available if the candidates. desire to use them. Henry Robinson mentioned that the E1 Nuevo Dia Newspaper was not very cooperative and Henry said that the next time we run an ad that we should use another minority newspaper instead of the E1 Nuevo, Dia. Henry has another paper in mind at this time. Radio Dispatcher ads have gone to. the papers and the first ad runs on July 26, 1990. This test will be given on August 23, 1990 at 7:00 pm at the North' Otlmsted High School. We have been receiving telephone calls and applications have started to be picked up at the reception"desk. at City Hall. 'Robert Wendt advised the comM ssion that the third.l-ine item budget has been added and this will help breakdown where the commission's money is being spent (due to the expense of physicals etc. for the police department).
