CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO
.sxa
CIVIL SERVICE MEETING: March 28, 1991
PRESENT: Chairman Robert Wendt, Commissioner Henry Robinson,
Secretary Tracy Ice
GUESTS: Safety Director Ernest Gundy, Fire Chief Osterhouse
PRADCO Representative Mr. Kapusinski
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ.
OLD BUSINESS
The Civil Service Commission received their night line, that number
is 777-4286.
Chairman Robert Wendt wanted to invite PRADCO Representative
Mr. Kapusinski to come to this Civil Service Meeting to discuss
other testing procedures. Mr. Kapusinski attended our meeting and
said the following:
PRADCO is a company who evaluates work habits, skills and decision
making of candidates after they pass our exams. and are at the top
of our list. Each candidate has to fill out a Personal Profile
which takes approximately 2-4 hours. PRADCO covers logical
reasoning, verbal comprehension, math test, personality traits,
previous work experience, words, concepts and so on. Then there is
an interview of about 1/2 hour with the PRADCO representative where
at the end of the interview PRADCO writes up a one-page letter on
why they feel this person would be good for that position or not.
The turnaround time to get the results back is usually 3-5 working
days (sooner if you want it to be verbal over the phone). PRADCO
has twelve (12) professionals on staff. This testing procedure can
be used for Entry Level or Promotional exams.
The cost for a MINI ASSESSMENT is $450 per candidate the higher the
rank the more extensive the process will be and therefore the cost
will be a few hundred dollars more per candidate.
Robert Wendt and Chief Osterhouse feel that PRADCO would be more
beneficial for Entry Level. Civil Service can then have the
candidates screened more thoroughly and hope that the candidates
that they hire will be the better candidate and stay with the
department a long time.
