CIVIL SERVICE MEETING <br />PAGE 2 <br />PRADCO helps to weed through and try and get the best qualified <br />candidates. Robert Wendt will do some checking and see if,this will <br />benefit North Olmsted. <br />We received the results back from the Asst. Fire Chiefs exam. Greg <br />Gettens scored the highest but declined the position and will remain <br />on our Certified List for 2 years. William Smith scored the second <br />highest and accepted the position. He was sworn in.on <br />April 1, 1991. Congratulations to William Smith. <br />Chairman Robert Wendt sat in on all three of the oral interviews. <br />Bob said that the Ohio Fire Chief's Association asked the same <br />questions to each candidate. He felt that there was good <br />conversation back and forth between the chiefs and candidates, he <br />felt that it went smoothly and that there is a definite advantage by <br />having oral interviews and the Chiefs stuck to the book. Bob Wendt <br />is planning to sit in.on the Oral Capt. Exam. which will be given on <br />April 13, 1991. <br />Captain's Fire Promotional Written Examination is scheduled for <br />April 8, 1991 at Town Hall at 7:00 pm. The Ohio Fire Chief's <br />Organization will give the test. This portion of the test will be <br />750 of their grade. We have 4 candidates taking this test. <br />Captain's Fire Promotional Oral Examination is scheduled for <br />April 13, 1991 at City Hall's Conference Room on the Second Floor. <br />The Ohio Fire Chief's Organization will give the test. Examinations <br />start at 9:00 am. This portion of the test will be 250 of their <br />grade. <br />Entrance Level Firefighter/Paramedic Written Examination - we <br />received the results back and from McCann & Associates. The <br />candidates were notified by mail on Monday, April 8, 1991. There <br />were 184 candidates who took the test out of 204 who had sent in <br />applications to take the examination. The passing score was set at <br />73.60. There were 110 candidates who passed the written exam. <br />The Firefighters Physical Agility Test will be held on <br />April 27, 1991 at the North Olmsted Middle School at 9:00 am. The <br />top 41 candidates will qualify to take the Physical Agility Test. <br />The American Physical Qualification Testing Corporation will grade <br />the exams. We should have the results back within a few weeks. <br />There will also be a $20 per hour fee for the custodian for the use <br />of the North Olmsted Middle School that Civil Service will pay. <br />
