CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />5200 Dover Center Road • North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 <br />Phone: 777-8000 Ext.232 <br />Fax: 777-5889 <br />CIVIL SERVICE MEETING MINUTES: January 28, 1993 <br />PRESENT: Chairman Jim Hines, Commissioner Glenn Marks, <br />Secretary Tracy Ice <br />GUESTS: Mr. Gundy, Police Sefcek, Chief Osterhouse, <br />Jim Dubelko <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Jim Hines mentioned that the North Olmsted City Schools are no longer <br />under the Civil Service guidelines. <br />Police Promotional Sergeant's examination was given on <br />January 18, 1993 at the Community Cabin at 9:00 am. There were 18 <br />candidates who were expected to take the exam. only 15 showed up. <br />Clancy & Associates administered the test. <br />The envelopes were opened, for the Sergeant's promotional test, before <br />todays meeting began.. The Commission decided to set the passing score <br />at 72.0 which passed the top (6) six candidates who will now be taking <br />the Assessment portion to be given on March 8, 1993 at 8:00 am <br />(6 candidates are expected). <br />The Police Lieutenant's Promotional Exam. is scheduled for <br />February 9, 1993 at 8:00 am (5 candidates are expected). The <br />Captain's Promotional Exam. is scheduled for February 8, 1993 at <br />8:00 am.(4 candidates are'expected). 0 A C P will administer the <br />test. <br />Chief Sefcek advised the Commission that he would like to have a <br />special meeting to open up the results from the Lieutenant's and <br />Captain's assessment so that he can go ahead and promote. The meeting <br />is set for February 18th at 6:00 in Town Hall. <br />Tracy Ice spoke to St. John and West Shore regarding using their <br />facility and exam. for the Fire Fighters Physical Agility Test. Tracy <br />asked if they have a minimum amount of candidates which are required <br />to take the test, they told her that they have no minimum requirement. <br />Chief Osterhouse advised the commission that there isa Fire Academy <br />Course at the Cuyahoga Community College which is a challenging <br />course for new candidates. Other Fire Chiefs are looking into this <br />for future Physical Agility Tests. Chief Osterhouse feels that we <br />might be interested in looking into this in the future for North <br />Olmsted. Jim Hines asked that the Chief keep us posted on the <br />progress. <br />
