I/ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />5200 Dover Center Road • North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 <br />Phone: 777-8000 Fact, 232 <br />Fax: 777-5889 <br />CIVIL SERVICE MEETING MINUTES: MARCH 25, 1993 <br />PRESENT: Chairman Jim Hines, Commissioner Glenn Marks, <br />Secretary Tracy Ice <br />GUESTS: Mr. Gundy, Police Sefcek, Chief Osterhouse, <br />Ron Wilamosky, Mayor.Boyle, Jackqi Templeton - Westlife, <br />Marella Varanese, Greg Varanese <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED AS READ. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Henry Robinson of the Civil Service Commission has been suspended from <br />the Commission per Mayor Boyle's memo of 3-15-93 to Civil'Service. <br />Henry Robinson resigned as of his letter dated March 29, 1993. <br />Police Sergeant's Assessment was given on March 8; 1993. Envelopes <br />were opened before this meeting and the results were hand carried to <br />Chief Sefcek to distribute on March 30, 1993. The 6 candidates who <br />took the test all passed and they now have a 10 day waiting period to <br />protest any questions before Chief Sefcek can promote the top <br />candidate. The Commission set the passing score at 70. <br />Police Captain's assessment was given on February 8, 1993 envelopes <br />were opened on February 18, 1993. Five candidates took the test and <br />four candidates passed the exam. The Commission set the passing score <br />at 70. <br />Police Lieutenant's assessment was given on February 9,1993. Four <br />candidates took the test and all candidates passed. The commission <br />set the passing score at 70. <br />Entry Level Fire Fighter's written test was given on March 8, 1993. <br />Forty-one candidates took the test, 34 candidates passed the test and <br />20 candidates will take the agility test which is scheduled for <br />May 1, 1993 at the North Olmsted High School gym. St. John & West <br />Shore will administer the test. Civil Service will have to pay a fee <br />to use the gym on Saturday. There are usually two people from the <br />commission at the test. One to sign in and one to observe. There is <br />a two week turn around time to get results. <br />The Lewis Robinson's case has been dismissed. <br />A Secretarial II test will be given as soon as possible. Ron <br />Wilamosky gave Tracy Ice a copy of the job description for this <br />position and will give Tracy the pay rate. We hope to give the test in <br />June at the North Olmsted High School. McCann will be the testing <br />company and then there will be a typing test given (minimum 45 wpm). <br />The Commission decided to set the application fee at $15. <br />
