CIVIL SERVICE MEETING MINUTES <br />APRIL 17, 1995 <br />PAGE 4 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Building Inspector Test - Carolyn Kasler has copies of the tests which <br />would be used for this position. She will review them and return them <br />to Tracy Ice so that Tracy can return them to the testing company. <br />There still has not been a date set for this test. We need a <br />validated test. This item will be taken off of the agenda and will be <br />put back on when needed. <br />Vision Revisions. The new standards have been typed and will be sent <br />to Dr. Huffman for him to review. The standards will then be put into <br />our application packages for future police and fire tests. <br />The Fire Fighter's test is still on hold. This item will be removed <br />from our agenda until we are asked to put it back on. <br />Chief Sefcek mentioned that the Police Department will hopefully get <br />two new officers from the Cop Fast Program. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Carol Willson will be sworn in on April 24th as our first female <br />officer and Susan Nauth will be our new dispatcher. Welcome girls! <br />The Commission removed one candidate from our eligibility list for <br />police. This person did not meet our vision requirements. A letter <br />will be sent to this candidate advising him of his removal. <br />Civil Service no longer gives tests for the secretaries in the school <br />system. Therefore, Civil Service felt that we no longer need to send <br />the school our meeting minutes. A letter will be sent to Mr. Blank <br />and Mr. Fenton advising them of the same. <br />The Commission would like to get sample tests to review for the up <br />coming secretarial test, which will be given for the City. We are <br />looking for a test with more grammar and punctuation. As far as what <br />type of typing test we will use, we will wait a while and decided at a <br />future meeting. <br />Correction Officer Chris Harris resigned, effective April 7, 1995. <br />Chief Sefcek asked that a Correction Officer test be given. Tracy <br />will call a few testing companies to get sample tests and pricing. <br />Chief Sefcek told the Commission that he is planning to retire in the <br />next few months. He would like to get the ball rolling on giving the <br />Chief's exam. Tracy will contact Ohio Association of Chiefs of <br />Police, OACP. <br />
